Position Summary
We are seeking a key team member to join our Finance team as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will assist with the monthly financial close process, including posting journal entries, preparing reconciliations, and generating financial reports. You will also support budgeting and forecasting efforts and respond to ad hoc requests. Accuracy and meeting deadlines are essential. You will apply continuous improvement tools to enhance processes and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX controls. You will communicate any concerns or issues to leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Monthly Close Process: Participate in the monthly financial close, collaborating with team members to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports on time.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports accurately and promptly.
- Data Analysis: Compile and analyze complex accounting information to provide management with essential insights for decision-making.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with accounting policies, GAAP, and SOX controls.
- Continuous Improvement: Engage in efforts to improve processes and develop standard work within the team.
- Leadership Support: Advise leadership on actions to enhance financial metrics and address potential issues.
- Mentorship: Become a subject matter expert and mentor less experienced team members. Lead projects and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role
Skills:• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles• Aerospace manufacturing experience a plus. • Proficient with automated accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial reports.• Excellent communication skills• Ability to step back and be a critical thinker• Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement a strong plus
