Job Description Perform complex functions of a specialized nature sustaining, adjusting, modifying, and calibrating equipment used in Research & Development (R&D) lab testing, electronics board assembly, machining (CNC and manual), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing, environmental/vibration testing, and ancillary facilities resources (air compressors, commercial electrical systems). Requires advanced application of technical theories, practical knowledge, and hands-on skills involving highly-sensitive electronics and precision mechanical devices. Duties are typically more responsibility oriented (versus daily task oriented), performed with little to no oversight or prioritization by a higher authority, sophisticated and unique in nature, and vary greatly in breadth and depth of content during day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Do:
- Sustain and manage scheduled maintenance on highly-specialized R&D lab, electronic board manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and machining equipment.
- Utilize hands-on skills to troubleshoot, inspect, and repair equipment in-house to the maximum extent possible. May require in-depth knowledge on a wide-variety of electronics and mechanical assemblies and systems to determine root-cause failures and technical resolutions.
- Review and accurately interpret schematics, drawings, specifications, and procedures for completeness and compliance to contract requirements.
- Serve as the liaison between OEM equipment vendors/service personnel and engineers, technicians, and customers.
- Manage, schedule, and route contract-assigned equipment for calibration at customer site and third-party vendors.
- Monitor and coordinate facility issues and emerging needs with the customer.
- Provide first response support on Information Technology (IT) equipment issues, coordinate with customer and contractor IT technicians to resolve complex failures.
- Monitor and coordinate follow up on customer-tracked IT Help Tickets to ensure timely resolution and decrease downtimes.
- Monitor, forecast, and initiate procurement of contract-required engineering and technical software tools and licenses.
- Perform limited design or statistical process control analysis for technical applications.
- May perform CAD modeling and design analysis using any of a variety of software tools.
- May design, develop, test and troubleshoot prototype and breadboard electronics, hardware and software applications, or data acquisition and control hardware/software.
- Maintain electronic historical records, required logs, records, and reports in accordance with policies/procedures and government regulations.
- Assimilate data and recommend action to address unique and complex technical situations.
- Contribute to proposals and design reviews, internal review boards, specifications, work standards, and business processes.
- Provide advanced instruction and training on specialized procedures and techniques to other employees and may develop processes and procedures essential to departmental compliance.
- Make continuous improvement suggestions, participate and lead projects in area of responsibility.
- Effective communications and regular interaction with higher level management, customers, and internal and external auditors.
- May plan and commit resources, coordinate and lead the work of lower level employees to assure task completion.
- May participate in industry-wide working groups or seminars and be recognized by industry experts, suppliers, and customers.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
