Job Description

This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and installing avionics and electrical systems on customer jets in a modern, climate-controlled maintenance hangar. The position requires strong diagnostic skills, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship and professionalism in a customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems on aircraft using meters, test equipment, and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform installation, removal, and modification of avionics components and wiring on customer jets.
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to complete maintenance tasks accurately.
  • Inspect, repair, and adjust avionics systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
  • Document all maintenance, troubleshooting steps, and repairs performed in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance personnel to resolve complex electrical and avionics issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while caring for and properly using state-of-the-art tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and strong communication skills when working in a hangar environment where customers may be present.
  • Work any assigned shift, including first, second, or third shift, as required by operational needs.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Sic (6) years of experience in an avionics or electrical career field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two (4) years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting avionics on aircraft.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with avionics and aircraft electrical systems.
  • Proficiency using meters and other test equipment for diagnosing electrical and avionics issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with aircraft systems in environments such as aviation maintenance, military aviation (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines), or similar aircraft electrician roles.
  • Ability to work any shift, including first, second, or third shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A&P license preferred.
  • FCC license preferred.
  • NCATT certification preferred.
  • Accredited schooling in aviation electronics is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in a customer-facing maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a hangar setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a temperature-controlled maintenance hangar equipped with state-of-the-art tools, including premium Snap-on equipment provided on site. The facility is modern and customer-facing, with clients frequently walking through the hangar, so a professional appearance and demeanor are essential. Work is performed around aircraft and avionics systems, requiring adherence to safety procedures and organized work practices. Technicians must be able to work any shift, including first, second, or third, depending on operational needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Brunswick, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.19 - $36.04/hr.
