Boeing Poland is seeking Cloud DevOps Engineer (Observability Focus) based in Gdansk. As the selected candidate you will be supporting DAS (Digital Aviation Solutions).

DAS (Digital Aviation Solutions) Digital Platform is a comprehensive suite of digital tools and services designed to enhance the efficiency, safety, and performance of aviation operations. Built by developers for developers, it employs modern software engineering best practices and technologies to streamline and fast-track the development of cloud-native applications. This platform supports both greenfield projects and the modernization of legacy applications while helping manage cloud costs.

Information about the project:

In the DAS area, a modern cloud platform is being built - based on two public clouds: Azure and AWS. One of its pillars is Observability, which consists of logs, metrics and traces. Our goal is to build a modern Observability system that will be compatible with two clouds and will be a source of necessary information about the state of our systems for end users, combined with a rich notification system.

Basic qualifications (Required):

  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, AWS X-Ray, CloudWatch, ADOT, Grafana
  • 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role, with a focus on Observability.
  •  Proficiency in AWS
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Solid English communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred qualifications (Nice to have) :

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices and Platform Engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
  •  Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  •  Any of the below certifications:
  • Azure Administrator Associate
  • Azure Solution Architect Expert
  • Azure DevOps Expert
  • AWS SysOps Administrator Associate
  • AWS Solution Architect Associate / Professional
  • AWS DevOps Engineer  Professional
  • Kubernetes: CKA / CKAD / CKS

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement and manage observability solutions across cloud environments.
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools such as Prometheus, LGTM Stack
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration of observability practices into the software development lifecycle.
  • Automate the collection and visualization of metrics, logs, and traces to provide insights into application performance and system health.
  • Work with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to provision and manage cloud resources with observability in mind.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement best practices for observability, including metrics collection and alerting thresholds.
  • Maintain documentation related to observability practices, tools, and processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in observability and cloud technologies.
  • Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AzureDevOps.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite 2- 3 days a week. It might vary based of the project needs. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future
