Reporting to the IT Business Services Manager for EMEA the role providing local and regional IT support across the UK, EMEA, and US teams as needed in a secure and collaborative environment.
Your role involves ensuring timely resolution of support tickets, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and managing a diverse range of IT systems and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in user onboarding, documentation, asset management, data centre maintenance, virtual environment support, and day to day IT operations.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- IT Support & Collaboration: Deliver 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support in coordination with the ServiceDesk, ensuring SLA compliance and assisting customer programs, projects, and engineering systems when needed
- System & Server Management: Install, support, and maintain Windows and Linux servers including upgrades, backups, server hardware upkeep, and virtual environments, including hypervisor support (Nutanix, VMware). Physical DataCentre support and maintenance activities
- EndPoint Support; Build, support, and maintain Windows/Linux workstations
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain and update knowledge articles, technical documentation, and support compliance reporting and remediation efforts.
- User Lifecycle & Asset Management: Oversee new hire/leaver processes, manage IT assets and consumables, and handle mobile phone provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Peripheral & Application Support: Provide support for printers/copiers and manage software/application installation, support, and maintenance.
- Disaster Recovery & Continuity: Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing, and documentation. Respond to Cyber Security incidents and proactively engage with relevant stakeholders.
- Project & International Collaboration: Lead or Support to IT projects assigned by regional/global teams and collaborate with international peers across time zones.
- On-Site & After-Hours Support: Travel to other sites as needed and participate in scheduled evening/weekend IT activities as and when needed.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Demonstratable experience (5 to 7+ years) in providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support in a similar role
- Excellent Organisational Skills
- Strong customer service orientated attitude
- Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Proficiency with IT service management (ITSM) tools and ticketing systems
- Proficiency in deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining standard software applications
- Strong Active Directory Administration
- Relevant experience in automation with PowerShell or PowerCLI
- Basic network fundamentals: TCP/UDP, switching, routing (layers 1-7)
- Recent demonstrated ability to build, deploy, support, and maintain both Windows servers and workstations, including virtual and physical server environments
- Significant recent working knowledge of VMware, VDI, ESXi, or a VMware certification (VCP, VCP-DV)
- Experience in producing clear, concise standard operating procedures for IT support operations
- UK Full Driving Licence
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
- VMware/VCP, or Nutanix certifications are highly desirable
- Experience with Nutanix and Cohesity
- Experience with Linux Workstation and Server Support
- Working to standards in accordance with ISO27001, CyberEssentials Plus, UK Government MoD framework
- Working in the Defence Industry
- Knowledge and application of ITIL concepts, or an ITIL v3 certification
- Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Testing, Planning and Upkeep
- Ability to manage and implement Small to Medium Scale Projects
- A relevant degree (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science) or equivalent professional experience
