INTERIOR DESIGN INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITIONSUMMARY:
Provide in-house, technical skillcapabilities through the utilization of design software programs. The DesignCoordinator is responsible for supporting the Design Department, includingother Designers and the Chief Designer in the full range of design requirementsnecessary for VIP interior cabin completion(s).
EXAMPLESOF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Generate computer drawings to support Sales andProduction such as LOPA, Interior Elevations, Design Control Drawings andDetailed Design Definition Packages.
2. Support the aircraft completion from induction throughdelivery including drawing completions based on customer approvals, materialdefinitions, and required support documents based on Customer approvals.
3. Provide general department support such as maintainingthe sample library, producing presentation boards and reference books, buildvendor relations, support photo shoots, and generating a supply of ready topresent design schemes.
4. Create and maintain material finish definitionsincluding special requirements and quantities.
5. Meet with vendors and stay current with the designtrends in the spanet.
6. Abide by federal regulations as well as customer wants,desires, and directions.
7. Identify problems and propose creative solutions.
8. Coordinate with other departments and designers asrequired in order to ensure things are completed in a timely manner.
9. Research vendors, hardware and fixtures related to eachaircraft requirements.
10. Thinkinnovatively for unique ideas related to design.
11. Aestheticand functional inspections of aircraft near completion.
12. Interactwith customer designers and consultants regularly.
13. Performother duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION,EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:
1. Associates Degree in Interior and/or Industrial Design(Bachelor preferred)
2. Proven proficiency in drafting and computer assisteddesign programs. AutoCAD proficiency is required.
3. General understanding of supply chains.
4. General understanding of soft goods materials.
5. Must represent the company well, be well-groomed andmaintain a professional appearance.
6. Proven proficiency in drafting and computer assisteddesign programs
7. Knowledge of aviation material requirementsand specifications preferred
8. Firm understanding of color principles,textile/leather/carpet/wood/veneer techniques, processes and applications
REQUIREDSKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Proficient in: Microsoft Office through 2007,AutoCAD, Adobe Suite
2. Must have the ability to interact with a widevariety of internal/external clientele
3. Must be able to communicate technical issuesin an assertive and tactful manner
4. Must possess excellent oral and writtenskills, as well as good analytical skills
5. Result Oriented

7. Strong time and priority management
8. Must be extremely organized
9. Must be able to work with otherscollaboratively as well as alone with minimal supervision
WORKENVIRONMENT:
Thework environment described here is representative of those required by anemployee to perform the essential functions of this job with or withoutreasonable accommodations.
Theoffice building where this position works is a typical office environment withminimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues in theimmediate vicinity of the work station. The employee in this position willexperience occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmentalelements when called upon to locate personnel working inside or outside of aHangar.
