This position is for Parker Hannifin’s Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The intern will work in the HR department and will provide support to various HR functions. This role will provide the intern with valuable experience in HR and employee relations. This is an entry-level position, and the HR intern will receive guidance and mentorship from the HR team. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about the manufacturing industry and gain valuable experience working in a fast-paced environment.
This internship is intended to fill an immediate part‑time need during the 2025–2026 academic year, requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week. The role will transition to a full‑time, on‑site position for Summer 2026. Start and end dates are flexible to accommodate academic schedules and availability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide functional support for the location as part of the site HR team.
- Participate in both targeted projects, including administrative assignments and broader programmatic initiatives related to HR in support of business objectives.
- Assist with employee events and collaborate as part of the engagement high performance team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, including employee files, organizational charts, and HRIS data.
- Assist with recruiting efforts, including sourcing and screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers
- Assist and help employees with questions related to HR, benefits, payroll, and training.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations on HR best practices and compliance requirements.
- Update and maintain employee communication bulletin boards.
- Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work area.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Pursuing a bachelors degree in human resources management, general business, or related field.
Incoming Junior or Senior Standing
Minimum of 3.0 GPA
Experience:
- Manufacturing facility, preferred
- Previous internship, preferred
Skills:
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as spanet and business considerations. Pay Range: $17.25 - $24.00 per hour.
