Position: Buyer
Reports To: Purchasing Manager
Status: Exempt
Shift: Day Shift: Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: Salary 57,000 - 72,000
BASIC WORKER FUNCTION:
Support purchasing for the company by buying materials, parts, services, and supplies needed for production and other areas.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF
TASKS:
- Place and track purchase orders, handle backorders, and manage deliveries.
- Evaluate suppliers for price, quality, and performance, work with Quality Control on any issues.
- Coordinate with departments on needs and schedules.
- Maintain accurate order records, help reduce costs, and share spanet trends.
- Overtime as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Build strong relationships with teams and suppliers.
- Work independently or in a team; manage multiple tasks.
- Negotiate supplier terms and review contracts.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems; blueprint reading a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to sit for long periods at a computer.
- Able to stand, walk, or move through office, warehouse, or production areas as needed.
