STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Quality Inspectors to join our client’s growing MRO operation at CVG Airport in Erlanger, Kentucky. This role is ideal for skilled professionals with deep knowledge of FAA regulations, nacelle component inspections, and a strong background in structural repairs.
Position Overview
As an Aircraft Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive inspections on aircraft components, including nacelles, thrust reversers, and structural assemblies for both commercial and military platforms. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to convert to a full-time role following a successful probationary period.
Note: Initial training may require up to two weeks of travel to a U.S.-based facility. All travel and lodging expenses will be covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform receiving, preliminary, in-process, hidden damage, and final inspections
- Ensure compliance with FAA, customer, and internal specifications
- Review inspection procedures, checklists, and documentation for accuracy
- Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations including Parts 43, 65, 121, and 145
- Sign airworthiness releases and verify work order completion
- Provide initial and ongoing quality training to team members
- Conduct ongoing surveillance of production work for compliance
- Collaborate with leadership to resolve quality assurance issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the repair station
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in aviation MRO with at least 5 years in quality inspections
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
- Must pass FAA/DOT drug and alcohol screening
- Willingness to work overtime and respond to AOG situations
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
- Skilled in interpreting technical data, blueprints, and repair documentation
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Part 145 Repair Station
- Familiarity with composite repairs and inspection techniques
- Knowledge of FAA and EASA Airworthiness Directives
- NDT Level II Certification in PT/MT or Eddy Current
- Experience with Quantum Control ERP system or similar platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of AS9110 or AS100 quality management systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to visually inspect aircraft components with accuracy
- Capable of reading electronic displays, schematics, and computer screens
- May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting components during inspections
