Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Job DescriptionThe Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the rapid manufacturing of electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and finished systems in a production environment. This role involves assembling cables, harnesses, panels, mechanical assemblies, and large system builds, as well as performing system troubleshooting and diagnostics. The assembler works closely with test technicians and engineering to resolve technical issues, follows detailed assembly documentation, uses a variety of tools and equipment safely, and maintains accurate build records. Responsibilities
- Assemble a wide range of electro-mechanical products, including cables, harnesses, panels, mechanical assemblies, and large system builds.
- Troubleshoot technical issues of varying complexity on sub-assemblies and finished systems.
- Collaborate with test technicians and engineering staff to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical and production issues.
- Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, and other production-related documentation to complete assemblies accurately.
- Solder wires, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and electronic components following established standards and best practices.
- Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and rework activities.
- Utilize measuring and test tools such as multimeters, continuity checkers, and similar equipment to verify proper operation and connectivity.
- Provide feedback on assembly processes and suggest changes or improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Complete build records, logs, and other required production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform quality checks on own work and conduct buddy checks on the work of others to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace by applying 5S methodologies.
- Follow all manufacturing guidelines, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and compliance policies set by the company.
- Participate in cross-training activities to support flexibility across different assembly tasks and product lines.
- Physically maneuver around larger finished systems as needed to complete assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Interact positively with team members to support a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing work culture.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Hands-on experience with soldering wires, PCBAs, and electronic components.
- Practical knowledge of electrical theory and signal processing sufficient to support troubleshooting and assembly work.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and power tools for assembly and rework.
- Ability to use measuring and test tools such as multimeters and continuity checkers.
- Awareness of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) practices and their importance in handling electronic components.
- Average computer skills for daily tasks such as accessing documentation, entering data, and completing electronic records.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-conscious approach to work.
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks efficiently and on time with a strong sense of drive and ambition.
- High level of personal integrity, trustworthiness, and respect in daily interactions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to help foster and maintain a positive team culture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Current or previously held certifications such as IPC 620, IPC 610, IPC 7711, IPC 7721, or J-STD are preferred.
- Experience performing buddy checks or peer quality reviews in a production setting.
- Experience applying 5S or similar lean manufacturing methodologies in the workplace.
- Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical components in integrated assemblies.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and suggestions to improve assembly processes and documentation.
- Willingness to participate in cross-training and to learn new products, tools, and procedures.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production facility focused on electro-mechanical manufacturing. You will work around a variety of assemblies, from small cable and harness builds to large systems that may require you to move around and access different areas of the product. The environment involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and test instruments such as multimeters and continuity checkers. Work follows established manufacturing guidelines, 5S principles, and ESD-safe practices to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Standard production hours apply, with expectations to follow all safety, regulatory, and compliance procedures while collaborating closely with technicians, engineers, and other team members on the production floor.

This is a Contract position based out of Vista, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
