Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

Summary:
The individual(s) will be responsible for the support and improvement of manufacturing product lines for Sarasota Legacy Products and New Products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•tUses systematic, data driven problem solving processes and continuous improvement processes such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, PDCA.
•tDesigns/innovates manufacturing processes and methods.
•tDocuments manufacturing processes – MDI key contributor
•tEvaluates drawing, specification and other data.
•tEvaluates new manufacturing technologies that are relevant to business requirements.
•tWrites Capital justification requests.
•tAchieves target cost savings and department productivity goals.
•tParticipates in MRB activities.
•tRegular, predictable attendance is required.
•tMust be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
•\tBachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
•\tExperience in a manufacturing environment working with drawings, suppliers, technicians, and engineers.
•\tStrong mechanical and technical background in electrical and mechanical systems with hands on experience.
•\tSelf starter & drive for excellence.
•\tGeneral knowledge of Engineering Standards, drawings, routings, bill of materials, and work instructions.
•\tUnderstanding of various machining and manufacturing processes.
•\tStrong ability to collect and interpret data to troubleshoot and problem solve.
•\tExperience with CAD for 3D modeling and drafting.
•\tStrong Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
•\tBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or another relevant discipline of Engineering from an accredited institution.
•\t2 years of prior experience in manufacturing environment.
•\tExperience with Configuration Control and PLM systems.
•\tExperience with ERP Systems.
•\tHands on experience with machining processes.
•\tLean & Six Sigma knowledge.

Physical Demands:
Stationary 50% / Mobility 50% may including lifting up to 25lbs

Work Environment:
Equal split between office work and working on the shop floor with production technicians.
