Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Templecombe 4-Day Week (Mon–Thurs) 12month contract (potential for extenstion)
PAYE: 32.18ph + 3.88ph holiday pay Umbrella: 44.64ph
Morson is currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Aerospace & Defence client in Templecombe, working on exciting projects across mechanical and electronic build/assembly.
This is a full-time role (37hrs per week), with a compressed 4-day working week and flexible start times between 6:00–7:30am.
What You’ll Do
As part of our team, you’ll:

Lead Design for Manufacture (DFM/A) activities, ensuring products are optimised for cost, quality, and efficiency.

Define, set up, and optimise manufacturing processes, tooling, and layouts.

Drive continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and technological innovation.

Support production readiness by running reviews, managing change, and reducing manufacturing risks.

Act as an SME, liaising with Engineering, Procurement, and Suppliers to ensure robust product delivery.

Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice across the business.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:

Strong experience in mechanical/electro-mechanical production (low–medium volume).

A background in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing (5S, Kanban, Six Sigma, VSM, etc.).

Knowledge of manufacturing systems (BOMs, routings, concessions, change requests).

Broad process understanding across machining, assembly, and test.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
